All this led to the fact that Nikki went to rehab and disappeared from the screens for six months in 2011, which extremely upset the fans. Some viewers believe that she was written off so that Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki, could resolve contract issues.
Now, fans have noticed that the way Nikki's arc is developing is too similar to the storyline with the rehab 13 years ago, and the actress may disappear from the screens for an indefinite period of time.
