5 LOTR Characters We'd Kill to See Henry Cavill Play

Henry Cavill is absolutely adored by fans not only because of his great acting talent, but also because he is just so relatable, openly admitting to being a fan of many fictional universes, including fantasy ones like The Witcher or Warcraft.

But he is also known to be a huge Tolkien nerd, bringing up The Lord of the Rings more than once in his many interviews, and fans have been wishing for years that he would appear in an adaptation of the author's work.

So here are five Lord of the Rings characters that we think Henry would have played brilliantly.

Aragorn

Though Viggo Mortensen did such an outstanding job portraying him in Peter Jackson's trilogy that it may be impossible for many fans to imagine anyone else in the role, Henry might be the perfect candidate for the job.

With his charming charisma, he might just be able to convey the "strong but not emotionless" nature of Aragorn.

Sauron

With Cavill's impressive physique, he would look great in the iconic armor of the Dark Lord, but he could also be great in his elf form.

After all, Henry is perfectly capable of looking menacing when the story calls for it, even if he doesn't often play evil characters.

Elrond

Speaking of elves, did you ever notice that Cavill's facial features look a little like Hugo Weaving's? Of course, Henry might be a little too ripped for your average refined elf, but this casting choice just might work.

Boromir

Sean Bean was also great at portraying such a tricky character as Boromir, as he slowly becomes possessed by the ring, but considering Cavill's talent, he could have pulled it off.

After all, he has already portrayed a character who started out with the good guys only to show his darker side later in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

Éomer

Though not a major character in the trilogy, the leader of the Riders of Rohan was still an important enough figure for readers (and viewers) to remember.

And we think Cavill would have been great as him, even if this role is not as big as the others on our list.
