It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… or is it?

While we all enjoy such holiday staples as Home Alone or Love Actually, there is a limit to any rewatching. Sometimes you remember the movie too well, or you suddenly get tired of hearing the same jokes over and over again.

If this is the case, say goodbye to Kevin McCallister and choose a new company to spend the evening with. Here are the top 5 movies that give off a big Christmas vibe without being about Christmas at all.

Gremlins (1984)

Would anything really change if the story of Gremlins took place in a different month? Not really. But Joe Dante was kind enough to give viewers some great scenes of little gremlins going door-to-door singing that melt our hearts every year. Besides, after this horror comedy traumatized generation after generation of children, it's only fair to pass on the tradition.

Little Women (2019)

Greta Gerwig's Little Women is the perfect Christmas Eve movie. First, it will set the mood with appropriate timing and set design, and then the story will leave you feeling warm and grateful for the life you have. It may not be a movie about Christmas, but it is certainly filled with the right spirit.

The Sound of Music (1965)

Although the movie has nothing to do with Christmas other than being one of the most replayed movies on TV during the holiday season, one of the songs in it is often treated like a classic carol. My Favorite Things, sung by Julie Andrews, never leaves the playlists around this time of year.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (2005)

Pretty much any fairy tale involving children has the potential to become a Christmas movie, but especially one that involves an adventure in a land of eternal winter. The movie was appropriately released at Christmas time and has since become a holiday staple in many homes.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Though the story of Tony Stark's last solo film takes place during the Christmas season, involves gift-giving struggles and the creation of a few ornamental bombs, it's unlikely anyone would call it a conventional Christmas movie. However, it is a must-see for anyone nostalgic for Marvel's past glory.
