5. Mac MacGuff – Juno (2007)

In this comedy-drama, the actor plays the father of the titular Juno, a high school student played by Elliot Page who discovers that she has accidentally gotten pregnant by her friend Paulie, played by Michael Cera.

Simmons brings a heartfelt touch of parental love to the movie, helping his daughter come to terms with her newfound problems and responsibilities.

4. Omni-Man – Invincible TV Series (2021-present)

Robert Kirkman definitely took casting for the TV adaptation of his own comics very seriously, as J.K. Simmons proved to be an absolutely perfect choice to play Nolan Grayson, or Omni-Man.

The actor perfectly conveyed the character's inner conflict between choosing his family or his mission, as well as his swings between being a hero of the day and a ruthless agent of alien invaders.

Though his role in this 2008 black comedy was a supporting one, so much so that he never even got a real name, Simmons stole every second he was on screen.

His portrayal of a CIA superior was absolutely hilarious, and his iconic dialogue at the end of the film was the icing on the cake.
