For the fans of spine-tingling action.

There are not many shows that successfully mix many genres into one. For example, Stranger Things is a perfect blend of drama, science fiction, fantasy and even comedy. The first season of the series was released in 2016, and since then it has become one of the most popular shows for many people.

However, with season 5 of the show currently in the works and fans waiting for it to finally be released in 2025, it seems like a good idea to check out some other shows that have a similar vibe.

To that end, we have compiled this list of six perfect shows to watch if you are a Stranger Things fan.

1. Daybreak (2019)

One of the first shows that comes to mind is this Netflix series. Daybreak is a post-apocalyptic drama about high school outcasts living their lives in Glendale, California. That sounds simple enough, but the city has been invaded by Mad Max-style gangs and zombie-like creatures known as ghoulies…

At the center of the series there;s a young boy named Josh Wheeler, brilliantly played by Colin Ford. The show mixes perfectly the horrors of living in a post-apocalyptic world and the harsh everyday realities that teenagers face on a daily basis.

2. Misfits (2009)

One of the most popular shows that is a perfect example of a sci-fi dramedy is Misfits. With teenagers at the center of the show, it tells the story of them realizing they have superpowers and navigating their lives from that moment on. Fans of the show love the dark themes it highlights in each episode and the way the writers make it all sound funny.

What is also great about the show is of course the cast. The hardcore fans of the show never stop commenting on the perfect performances of the actors who portray troubled teenagers.

“It’s like classic UK comedy, but with an actual plot and powers. Not everyone likes “superhero” shows, including me, but Misfits makes it so much better. And the cast- it’s perfect. Even when they were all replaced, they were replaced perfectly, with similar characters but are still so much different,” one redditor said.

3. Dark (2017)

Now it's time for some German classics. Dark offers a chilling look at the interconnections of four dysfunctional families as they unravel a time-travel conspiracy that has lasted for generations. The show's suspenseful storyline is flooded with paradoxes and mysteries that never seem to get a chance to be solved.

4. Eerie, Indiana (1991)

Old but gold. This show was released in 1991 and was considered the best example of the genre we are talking about now. The number of spine-chilling moments in this show, which was mostly aimed at teenagers, makes us wonder if the audience was chosen right.

The show follows the life of Marshall Teller as he investigates different supernatural events in his supposedly normal town. What keeps audiences glued to their small screens is, of course, the brilliant performance of Omri Katz as Marshall. And though the show didn't last long, it remains an iconic series that had a huge impact on the culture.

5. Warrior Nun (2020)

For those familiar with the comic book industry, this show may not come as a surprise, as Warrior Nun was actually inspired by Ben Dunn's comic book series. At the heart of the story is a young girl named Ava Silva who is a paralyzed teenager.

The central event of the show is when she unexpectedly wakes up in a morgue with newfound superpowers. On top of that, she's now trapped in a war between Heaven and Hell. The fans of the show are sure that it’s very underrated.

“The show is so good, but people won't give it a chance from the title. I'm here to tell you it is worth it. I watch a lot of TV, more than most people. Warrior Nun is a special show. Weird title, fantastic show, and takes a couple episodes to get going. Do yourselves a favor if you're looking for something to watch, check it out,” Redditor loper42 said.

6. Lovecraft Country (2020)

Lovecraft Country guides viewers on an uncanny journey into the heart of 1950s Jim Crow America. This harrowing drama combines fantasy and horror to explore the racial biases that were prevalent during the era.

At the center of the story is Atticus Freeman, a Korean War veteran who faces supernatural horrors as he searches for his missing father, amazingly played by Jonathan Majors.
