Yes, you are not dreaming, this is happening.

Henry Cavill has officially confirmed that he is back as Superman, and the new DC era is just getting started.

"I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch 'Black Adam, '" Cavill in an Instagram video. "But now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official: I am back as Superman."

According to the iconic actor, his Black Adam cameo was "just a very small taste of things to come." Moreover, Cavill went on to thank fans for their patience and hint that "it will be rewarded."

Naturally, fans immediately went crazy and celebrated the comeback, even though it was pretty predictable in the wake of Dwayne Johnson 's teases that he hopes for the DCEU to feature more things Black Adam and Superman in the future.

Some people think that there might have been some big changes for Cavill to officially return.

"You have to realize that the previous Warner Bros regime (Toby Emmerich & Walter Hamada) said no to Henry Cavill's Superman for 5 years, even Batfleck is coming back. I bet there was some huge Disney paycheck under the table to remove Superman & Batman from DC's shared universe," Twitter fan GokanEkinci suggested.

But others are in no mood for speculations and theories. So far, people seem to be genuinely happy about the return of their favorite red-caped superhero. It is one of the rare times when DC fans seem to be hopeful about their cinematic universe.

"Our Superman is back. His message just now was so heartfelt and we know how much this character means to Henry! Grateful to have him back! Grateful for the future of the DCU, " tweeted LisWonder1.

Cavill has long been considered as the actor who was born to play Superman. He first donned the iconic suit in 2013 movie Man of Steel, reprising the role again in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017's Justice League, and 2021's Zack Snyder's Justice League. Finally, he returned in an explosive cameo in 2022 movie Black Adam.

The Dwayne Johnson-led movie is currently in theaters, having premiered on October 21.
