You can’t help but to rewatch these romance gems, as the actress returns to the genre.

Prime’s global top was blown up by the new charming romantic comedy, entering the game. The Idea of You, a love story about the single mother and the band’s frontman, signified Anne Hathaway ’s loud return to the movie genre, where she impeccably fits in.

Here are 5 rom coms starring the actress, to revise one of her most memorable roles.

  1. Ella Enchanted (2004)

This list would be impossible without mentioning this family-friendly fantasy, which appears to be a satire of the whole fairy tale genre. It follows a seemingly classic Cinderella story about a girl cursed to obey anything she is told to do, who leaves her home to find both love and a way out of the curse.

However, it offers a bunch of fun twists and Hathaway’s brilliant performance in the role of the fierce, though gentle Ella.

  1. Bride Wars (2009)

Next comes the romcom you should never add to the female friendship movie list, as it focuses on the two childhood friends, hilariously portrayed by Hathaway and Kate Hudson, who turn enemies on their race to get married first.

There are more comedy elements than the romantic ones; however, it’s still quite a rewatchable genre’s example, and its turns, dictated by the brides’ nasty deeds, will make you roar with laughter.

  1. Valentine’s Day (2010)

This star-studded film is definitely a gem for rewatching not only on February 14, but for a regular cozy evening too. Telling multiple love stories during one particular Valentine’s Day, it among all follows the romance between Hathaway’s phone sex operator, hiding her occupation from her boyfriend, played by Topher Grace. Although their line is quick to wrap soon, the actress here manages to demonstrate her romantic lead potential.

  1. Love & Other Drugs (2010)

Luckily, here the actress reveals her potential in full, and it’s added by her amazing onscreen chemistry with Jake Gyllenhaal. Set in the 1990s, the movie centers on a young woman with early onset Parkinson’s disease, who falls for a medicine peddler, and their relationship promises not only a generous amount of comedy, but, obviously, drama.

  1. Locked Down (2021)

It seems that last comes the least hyped Hathaway’s romcom, even though it’s still worth-watching. The movie’s plot follows a couple who plan to execute a jewelry robbery during the pandemic lockdown, and it mixes typical heist elements, romance (and be sure there is also great actors’ chemistry) and jokes regarding relationships.
