The Marvel Cinematic Universe has captivated audiences for over a decade, weaving a complex tapestry of superheroes, villains, and intertwining storylines.

Fans have always speculated about what lies ahead for the mightiest heroes, and a recent theory gaining traction on Reddit suggests an intriguing possibility that even Iron Man or Captain America could return (if the actors want to).

Redditor tw319889 is also the originator of the idea, noting that we've seen a lot of resurrections of one sort or another since Endgame.

The author of the theory claims that during the phases of the cinematic universe, there were already border worlds where any of the heroes could be alive.

In Black Panther, we got the Ancestral Plane, in Thor, of course, Valhalla, and in Ms. Marvel, there was the Noor Dimension. Even Moon Knight had an afterlife that the hero managed to get out of.

The Redditor even suggests that in Guardian of the Galaxy Volume 3 we saw the exact desert from the Moon Knight series.

Not only is it a place of rebirth for the ancient Egyptian gods, but Rocket met Lila and his friends there. Or maybe it was the lake inside the Soul Stone.

In Volume 3, there was a scene in a mystical white room where Racoon was rescued by Star-Lord using some medical equipment he had stolen from the High Evolutionary.

The Redditor thinks these dimensions may be different forms of the same afterlife. And maybe we'll get to see our favorite dead heroes in a new phase of the cinematic universe.

Doctor Strange already showed us that multiverses exist, so there's nothing stopping the creators from bringing Iron Man back, albeit in a slightly different form.

And while many fans confirm that this assumption may be true, they would not like to see the already dead characters back on screen.

"[...] Death already has no meaning or consequence, time travel and the multiverse make death a minor inconvenience instead of permanent," Redditor zoecornelia said.

Despite the dissatisfaction, many fans would like to see their favorite characters again. Perhaps another $75 million will bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the role.

But even in the comics, Iron Man is no longer Tony Stark, so a new version of the superhero could appear in the upcoming movies.
