Do you think it is okay to have a romantic relationship at work? How about two law enforcers flirting and falling in love?

Some people find it totally acceptible, especially if one takes into account the fact that a lot of people spend most of their time at work. This is what fans of Blue Bloods series were discussing after the show's official Instagram account posted a very special clip from Season 13 of the series.

In the short video Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), who've been partners since Season 3, are having a flirty exchange. Baez says that Danny looks great and "had a swag" and he replies in kind saying that he had to be on par with her adding that Maria looks "amazing" and "wonderful." The Blue Bloods showrunners described the scene as "There's nothing quite like words of affirmation from your partner in crime" but for the fans it was much more than that.

They started dreaming of the two characters drawing closer to each other to become a couple in the end. "It appears they might become more than partners on job," reads one of the comments under the Instagram post. Others posed a question – why these people are not together yet because they have so much more chemistry than Jamie and Eddie and are basically made for each other.

But not everyone shares the excitement saying that they are great as partners, but not as a couple. There's already Jamie and Eddie and it would be cool to have someone not connected to the law enforcement. "Nooo. Baez is like a sister! Leave it alone!" one of the fans disagrees, with another one saying that Danny and Baez are like siblings. It can also ruin the dynamic and would separate them as partners.

Whether or not there's chemistry between them and no matter how hard the fans are rooting for them to become a couple, the Blue Bloods showrunners have other plans. Kevin Wade once said in an interview with PopCulture.com why the relationship between Danny and Baez have evolved differently if compared to the one between Eddie and Jamie.

"What the actors [Will Estes and Vanessa Ray] were doing was leading us somewhere," he said. "As we watched it evolve over the seasons, we thought, well, this is a natural thing, and the audience, I'm sure, is thinking the same thing that we the writers were," Wade explained. T

he executive producer also said that there is a "trap in marrying people" because watching a happy couple could be boring. Unlike Jamie, Danny is a typical representative of the Reagans who devote their lives to their jobs. So, the man is literally married to his job.
