Brutal Deleted Wanda Scene From 'Multiverse of Madness' Has Fans Going Insane

Wait, so Scarlet Witch could have been even more unhinged?

A new deleted stunt sequence from 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' featuring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff appears to be even more unsettling than the entire movie that has already shown us the darker sides of Wanda's soul.

The newly-released footage shows what appears to be a rehearsal of the stunt sequence, with Olsen taking care of several "Kamar-Taj soldiers" — in a way that is truly horrifying even by the 'Multiverse of Madness' standards. In the clip with basic visual effects, Wanda is seen cruelly attacking the wizards, using one of them as a puppet to slay others, and even decapitating another.

Finally, we can see Olsen's character going full Vecna mode, lifting one wizard up in the air and cracking his bones.

The never-before-seen footage had fans shocked — even those who were ready to stand by Wanda as she went down a villain path. For many people, the decision to remove the sequence from the movie seems to be understandable, because it makes it harder to root for Scarlet Witch.

But still, people feel they were "robbed" of a truly impressive and unnerving sequence.

"Keep in mind, as dope as this choreography is, this probably would've gotten them an R rating given how brutal Wanda's power display is here. That being said, I wished they filmed it anyway and kept it in a vault. Would make for great urban legends." – @BrianMLove3

Others, however, argued that the movie is better off without the scene.

"I like decision to delete this scene. Wanda is a sorcerer, not a warrior. her powers are best at long distances. Imagine the movie, how easily she defeated the mage warriors and later in movie got a punch from America." – @AurorNight

It's likely that the scene was removed from 'Multiverse of Madness' out of concerns that it would quickly propel the rating from PG-13 to R — which was clearly something Marvel was not ready to do. Still, the Doctor Strange sequel turned out to be pretty dark anyway, with Wanda, who was corrupted by the Darkhold, committing several atrocities as she desperately tried to save her children that she created with Vision in her makeshift reality that was described in 'WandaVision' show.

However, despite the killing spree in 'Multiverse of Madness', Wanda has appeared to garner new fans and enchant the old-school ones even more. Many people are demanding that Marvel launch a solo Scarlet Witch movie. The studio has been mum about this possibility, as was Elizabeth Olsen, who plays coy when asked about the future of her character in the MCU.
