Something is coming for the Dutton clan, and it's bringing the ultimate Game of Thrones MVP with it.

Yellowstone, a "modern-day Western" drama, by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, had a rough ride, with some seasons facing poor reception by critics or audience, but ultimately it achieved enough success for Paramount to greenlight several prequels/spin-offs. And of those, the upcoming 1923 series is most notable, both for its time period, and for its star cast, which might be more than a match for the cast of the original series.

A number of luminaries have gathered on 1923's set and the main roles are played by truly big actors: Harrison Ford plays Jacob Dutton, the formidable patriarch of the Dutton family and owner of the Yellowstone ranch; Helen Mirren plays his equally formidable wife, Cara Dutton.

And one actor, playing a character who is going to be their opponent, may be not as famous as them, but he is very familiar to all the fans of Game of Thrones.

Quite a number of people think that Jerome Flynn may be named Game of Thrones' MVP, thanks to his impressive performance as roguish sellsword Bronn. That may be a bit of exaggeration, while Bronn was an important supporting character, he still was an supporting character.

But Jerome Flynn certainly made the most out of opportunities provided by that role, and made the audience love his Bronn, even though by pretty much any objective standard Bronn was an utterly self-serving scoundrel.

Hopefully, he's going to be as charming and witty when playing Banner Creighton on 1923. Banner Creighton is a hard-headed Scot, and the leader of the local sheep men. As it appears from the trailer, and the list of the cast, Creighton, like Bronn, may be hired muscle for a bigger villain, but it is certain, that his goals and ambitions will bring him into an irreconcilable conflict with Duttons:

While the age of Wild West is often seen as being in the past by 1923, it is clear that not everyone in this series agrees that conflict-solving method of that age should be consigned to the pages of history.

1923 is set to release on Paramount in just a couple of days, on December 18th.
