It would’ve been quite a delight to see the Harry Potter cast, years later, wearing the same lightning scar tattoos, and it almost happened…but one actress ruined the fun.

Harry Potter movies have been in the making for many years, and the younger cast members literally grew up on the set. The relationship between the actors resembled that of a family, and they all became really close — especially the Golden Trio, of course, and Tom Felton, their on-screen rival and off-screen best pal.

It’s only predictable that, as the final movies were being shot, there were more and more melodramatic vibes on the set: everyone knew that soon, that magical chapter of their lives would end. This understandably led to the younger actors coming up with ideas to commemorate the years they’d spent together on the set.

It wasn’t long until they came up with the idea of matching Harry Potter tattoos.

"I wasn't supposed to say anything, but we've all got lightning bolts on our a*ses. No, I'm joking. But I did try and talk them into it. I thought it was a nice idea — maybe not on the a*se, but a little something. We talked about it but all wimped out," shared Tom Felton.

He wasn’t the only one excited to get thematic tattoos: other boys were down for it, too.

“There was talk between us about doing something like a tattoo… It would have been something subtle like Harry’s lightning scar. It would’ve been a great way of marking the end of filming,” confirmed Rupert Grint.

Unfortunately, Emma Watson was absolutely not going to let that plan come through — at least, she wasn’t going to have a tattoo on her own body. That’s why the idea “wimped out” later down the line.

“I love tattoos, but I love them on other people. In fact, I have a Pinterest account and a whole board of tattoos that I like but I would never want one for myself. I don’t think I could pull it off. My own self-image would not allow it,” explained Watson.

Well, as unfortunate as it sounds, even though they didn’t get those sick matching lightning scar tattoos (preferably somewhere where the public could see), there’s no way that the younger Harry Potter stars would ever forget the magical adventure they went through together. It’s not up to a tattoo to decide that.

But it totally would’ve been cool if they all had one, like, come on.

Would you have done one in their place?
