We are still a few months away from the release of highly-anticipated Barbie, and Ryan Gosling is fueling up our interest in the best way possible.

Ever since Barbie 's cast was announced, and Gosling's photo as Ken went viral, fans have been obsessing over the movie and all the details they know so far.

Most people are excited about what is to come in the summer of 2023, but some are speculating whether Ryan has aged out of the role of Ken.

The actor is 42 years old (although he doesn't look it) while the lead actress, Margot Robbie, who plays Barbie, is only 32. Sure, a 10-year difference may seem like a lot, but those two look hotter than ever in the trailer!

Anyway, last year Ryan Gosling popped in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss the upcoming rom-com.

The actor recalled feeling "surprised" that some fans were "clutching their pearls" over the fact that he got the part of Ken, saying that it was weird because they had probably never even given Ken much thought before the movie was announced.

That is true, Ryan, but don't forget that people love to complain more than anything else in the world!

Gosling quickly scotched the rumor spread by Vanity Fair – that he agreed to play Ken because of his "love of jean jackets."

While Ryan admitted to having a soft spot for denim, he actually said yes to the movie for another (much stranger) reason.

Apparently, Barbie's director Greta Gerwig called Ryan and offered him the part.

Gosling went for a walk in his backyard to consider everything (that was a big decision, he did say that Barbie's was "the best script he'd ever read") and saw a pretty sad image: an actual Ken doll was lying around with his face in the mud ("a squished lemon" next to it didn't make things any better).

Scandalous!

Thinking he was getting a good old sign from the universe, the star captured the doll in a photo and texted it to Gerwig, saying, "I shall be your Ken, for his story must be told."

Who could be the better person to tell it?

We know that Ryan is the man for the job, and his portrayal of Ken can bring some justice to the character and change the narrative of his story.

No more sleeping on Ken, it is his time to shine!
