It's been over a year since Marvel fans started campaigning for this movie to exist, and now the scoopers have sparked new hope for its potential future.

A month ago, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Elizabeth Olsen win the prestigious MTV Movie & TV Award after her portrayal of Scarlet Witch was nominated in the Best Villain category.

The fans of the actress were ecstatic and thought of this as something of their shared win — and decided to not stop there.

With Scarlet Witch being named the Best Villain, the campaign for a standalone movie for this character reignited with a new passion, but it's nothing new.

The fans have been asking Marvel Studios for a Scarlet Witch movie for at least well over a year now, and until now, they've gotten no positive feedback from the studio.

But not all hope is lost for those willing to believe: the most recent update from two of the industry's scoopers openly hints at a Scarlet Witch project that may very well be a standalone movie.

On June 1, two insiders — RPK and CanWeGetSomeToast — posted the same image on their Twitter accounts.

For those unfamiliar with the comics, this picture may seem vague, but as the diligent fans immediately pointed out, it's the cover for the 2016's Scarlet Witch #4 comic. Neither of the scoopers left any context.

Despite the lack of commentary, this was enough to rekindle the already-dying (together with the current version of the Marvel Universe) hope for a Scarlet Witch movie.

While this could also potentially hint at a different project involving the character, a standalone movie appears to be the most obvious bet here.

If this assumption is true, it would've been a great finale for the Multiverse Saga that pretty much started with WandaVision.

Allowing us to see Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch one last time as the Marvel Universe comes to closure would've been a beautiful gesture — and we're not even talking about the need to finish the Witch's story as she was left hanging in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
