A heartwarming friendship between Joseph Quinn and Fabien Frankel shows how good it is to have someone who is going through the same experiences as you.

Not many actors whose careers exploded overnight can say their inner circle can keep up with their new insane pace of life. This is why many of the newest celebrities lose contact with their friends and acquaintances. And this is what makes stories about friendships that have stood the test of fame so heartwarming. That is the case of Joseph Quinn and Fabien Frankel.

The two friends met at LAMDA, a British drama school famous for its big-name graduates, Richard Armitage, Brian Cox, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and of course Benedict Cumberbatch. Joseph Quinn told GQ he was in his final year at LAMDA when he met Frankel who was a freshman at the time.

The same year, Quinn landed his very first acting job on Dickensian. As the actor put it, he was "f**king lucky" to be cast as Arthur Havisham in the 2015 series based on Charles Dickens novels. However, the role didn't send him to stardom. The actor hit the big time only after he was cast as Eddie Munson in Season 4 of Stranger Things released in May 2022.

While Quinn was winning over fans, his friend Fabien Frankel found himself on a very similar path thanks to the HBO show House of the Dragon released in August 2022.

Frankel played Ser Criston Cole, Rhaenyra Targaryen's first love interest. It might even seem ridiculous how similar their situations are. Both were relatively unknown before they landed roles in big franchises with huge fanbases. And both did so well that they got all of the attention and love from the fans. These similar circumstances allow the friends to relate to one another, as Quinn noted.

"It's f**king hilarious. We've shared similar anxieties about the ridiculousness of our situations," the actor told GQ.

And Frankel seems to share the sentiment, adding a friendly banter in the process.

"As much as it pains me to say, he was always just a brilliant actor," he says of Quinn. "There was always some magic on stage. Sadly we've never got to work together, but we've always stayed close."

The actors may have never worked together but they do share the George R.R. Martin cinematic universe. Joseph Quinn played a Stark soldier in one episode of Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, he didn't land a bigger role in the HBO show, but everything happens on its own time.
