Sylvie isn’t exactly just a female version of Loki.

Loki Season 2 has finally dropped, and it's a major treat for every Marvel fan out there. We get to finally reunite with Mobius, Loki, and Sylvie. And speaking of Sylvie, did you know she is actually inspired by another Marvel character? Yes, there's some cool backstory to that.

While Sylvie is supposed to be just an alternate version of Loki, don’t you find her kind of too different (and we are not talking about her gender)? Well, the reason is simple: there is a character behind Sylvie, and her name is Enchantress.

A Reddit user posed an interesting question: is Sylvie meant to be the MCU 's version of Enchantress? The answer is a resounding "yes" from the Marvel community.

Originally, Enchantress, whose real name is Amora, is an Asgardian sorceress known for her beauty and her mastery over seductive magic. She's often seen trying to win Thor's heart, sometimes as an ally, and other times as an adversary.

Amora has a vast knowledge of spells and has been both a foe and a lover to Thor. She's one of the most powerful sorceresses in Asgard and has often teamed up with Loki to achieve her goals.

But there's more. Sylvie is actually based on the Sylvie Lushton version of Enchantress from the comics. Sylvie Lushton was an ordinary girl from Broxton. Everything changed when the Asgardians relocated Asgard to Oklahoma. Suddenly, Sylvie found herself with magical powers.

In addition to the identical names, Sylvie’s magic is even referred to as “enchantment” in the first season of Loki.

Some fans believe that the MCU's Sylvie is a combination of Lady Loki and Enchantress. Lady Loki is an incarnation of Loki after he had been reborn in a female body. This transformation took place after the events of Ragnarok in the comics, where Asgard was destroyed and reborn.

The MCU has a knack for blending characters to create fresh, new narratives, and Sylvie seems to be no exception Sylvie is a fascinating character, and it's clear she's drawn inspiration from various Marvel characters, especially Enchantress.

Did you know about Enchantress before?
