When Stranger Things season 4 got underway, viewers were once again presented with a Nancy-Steve-Jonathan love triangle. Whether you're Team Stancy or Team Jancy, Millie Bobby Brown, the actor who plays Eleven, has given her thoughts on the matter.

In season 1 of Stranger Things , Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) was an egotistical jock boyfriend of Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer). It wasn't until season 2 that Steve actually got written into the show as the main character. According to the show's writers, Steve was meant to die in season 1 but after Joe Keery's performance, they changed track.

This, of course, led to a love triangle between Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan.

Season 4 saw a reprise of the love triangle from season 1 with Steve (Nancy's ex-boyfriend) and Jonathan (Nancy's current boyfriend). Though Steve and Nancy did break up at the end of season 1, it wasn't until season 2 that Nancy got with Jonathan. Though they hit some bumpy ground in season 3, they were very much still together during season 4.

However, with a long-distance relationship proving difficult for both, they both began to re-evaluate their future.

Due to being in the same location as her ex, Nancy saw how Steve had grown as a person and it seemed as though a romantic spark lit up again. Many Stranger Things fans have wondered who Nancy will end up with in the series' final season, season 5.

The Reason Big Bang Theory Cast Took a Pay Cut Was Incredibly Sweet

When Maya Hawke, who plays Robin, was interviewed for Vanity Fair, she said that Nancy should end up single to focus on her career.

Who does Millie Bobby Brown favor?

When interviewed on a lie detector by Vanity Fair, Mille Bobby Brown was asked, "do you think Steve and Nancy belong together?" Brown said "no" and went on to say that Nancy should pick Jonathan, saying that he was "kind and he might just need a little bit more time to grow into himself as a man."

It's clear that the Duffer Brothers have been pushing the narrative on the love triangle between Jonathan, Nancy, and Steve, and it seems as though Nancy will have a choice to make in season 5. As for her character arc, it seems that a lot of Nancy's story has focused on how much she is underestimated in life.

Throughout the series, she has shown herself to be a voice of reason and very capable of dealing with whatever is thrown at her. No matter who (if anyone) Nancy ends up with in season 5, it would be great for her to move on from life in Hawkins to pursue her dream job as a journalist. And, like Maya Hawke said, it might actually be better for her to be a single female who doesn't need a man by her side.
