And we can't recommend it enough!

When you hear there’s going to be a completely black-and-white movie about a serial killer, you’d probably think twice before even considering watching it as you never know what to expect from something like that.

Then you find out it's a noir TV series starring Andrew Scott and it seems like a good idea to give it a chance, right? Netflix just released its new show called Ripley, and it has already blown some minds.

Based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, the new limited series, written and directed by Steven Zaillian, is a psychological thriller that revolves around the complex life of a serial killer Tom Ripley.

Set in 1960s New York, the series tells the story of a young low-life man who is hired by a wealthy man to help him bring his son back from Italy. However, after meeting the son named Dickie Greenleaf, Tom’s life changes and now is full of fraud and murder. Now he has to work his way into elite American life through lies and deceit.

The show already has a 88% Rotten Tomatoes score. And what makes this dark series a must watch is firstly the mesmerizing Andrew Scott’s portrayal of the famous antihero.

“I'm only 2 episodes in but this show is goddamn hypnotic. All the character interactions and dialog are so weirdly and masterfully performed, I can't take my eyes off the screen. And it's so beautiful to look at, it's insane. Love Andrew Scott's performance here,” Redditor qualitative_balls said.

The series was first created to stream on Showtime but was later moved to Netflix. And some viewers even say that it’s even easy to spot that from the way the series was created.

So if you want to witness Scott giving yet another magnetic performance playing a dark and complicated character, check out the series on Netflix.
