The action will move from Montana to Missouri. And there will be just as much sin!

Summary

  • Peacock has unveiled the trailer for its new reality show, The McBee Family Dynasty.
  • The show chronicles the story of a Missouri family trying to keep the ranching business alive.
  • Domestic conflicts and a cowboy setting are sure to please all Yellowstone fans.

Not long ago, fans of Yellowstone received the promising news that the second part of Season 5 would be released as early as November 2024. And while the Yellowstone ranch may go to one of John's children, or even Kayce's son Tate, it looks like we're in for a more tragic end to a family that has failed to maintain unity and traditional ways of life in general due to feuds and an overreliance on money and corruption.

But one family that may (but only may!) thrive is the McBees, a Midwestern ranching dynasty. Coming soon to Peacock is a new story about modern cowboys and their personal drama. You can also expect a lot more genuine emotions and a lot less gunfights, as the upcoming series will be an unscripted reality show. We're talking about The McBee Family Dynasty: Real Life Cowboys, and let's take a look at why it's a must-see for all Yellowstone fans.

Succession Meets Yellowstone

'It's like the whole world's against you,' the McBee family patriarch lamented. And that's not surprising, since the McBees are a wealthy family that controls no small part of Missouri and are therefore not universally accepted.

On February 22, Peacock released an exclusive official trailer for the upcoming show. Essentially, it's a Yellowstone-inspired reality version of HBO's Succession (it's important to note that while the Kevin Costner show has a legacy theme, it unfortunately doesn't seem to be as important as each Dutton's desire for revenge on the other).

According to the premise, the show will introduce the viewer to the incredibly intense, dramatic and fascinating world of farming and ranching, centered on the McBee Farm and Cattle, owned by Steve McBee. Only, unlike Kevin Costner's character, Steve lives a much more rambunctious life, and now the business is on the verge of bankruptcy. But trouble never comes alone, and Steve also intends to pass the business on to one of his children.

Cowboy-Hatted Family Drama

The eldest, Steven Jr., once appeared on television as part of Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, is most interested in running the business. However, he is too stubborn and self-righteous to consider his brothers. Next is Cole, who is more of a party animal than a reliable successor to the business. Next is Brayden, who is the furthest removed from his father, having been raised by his mother. Finally, Jesse, a.k.a. 'the pretty boy,' is the main dark horse: He is interested in the business, but must contend with Steven Jr.'s authority.

The family drama is exacerbated by Steve's approach to life: he's in a romantic relationship with the company's CFO, Galyna, but that doesn't stop him from sleeping with other women, creating tension with both Galyna and his own sons.

Will McBee Farm and Cattle be able to withstand the pressure from competitors, the government, and the McBees themselves to become a multi-billion dollar company? Or is it destined to fall into the abyss of oblivion that hangs over the heads of the Dutton family?

The McBee Family Dynasty: Real Life Cowboys will premiere March 11 on Peacock. All ten episodes will be available at once. It will also premiere simultaneously on USA Network on March 11 at 11 p.m. ET, with subsequent episodes airing weekly. Well, it won't be long before we find out who deserves to be called the new patriarch of the McBee family, ready to give the Dutton family a run for their money with their power, depravity and self-absorption.
