The other ones are simply great actors.

Summary:

  • The Big Bang Theory was a CBS sitcom that ran from 2007 to 2019.
  • The show's regular cast consisted of 7 members, all of whom, except for Kaley Cuoco, portrayed scientists.
  • However, only Mayim Bialik, who portrayed Amy Farrah Fowler, has a science degree in real life.

In a show like The Big Bang Theory, creating a character's image and working on their mannerisms, looks, gestures, and tone of voice is only half the battle. While the show focuses mostly on the unique relationships between the group of friends, there is a huge emphasis on the science aspect of the show.

And when you are given a scientific line on a set like this, you better not screw it up.

Technically, you don't have to have a degree to read an interesting fact on the Internet and show off your knowledge in a field you know nothing about – anyone can do it! But if you're acting for a sitcom that's going to air on a major network, you have to make sure you sound confident in what you're saying and convincing enough for the audience to buy it.

Of the entire cast of The Big Bang Theory, there was only one actress who didn't have to struggle so much with her own lines. However, considering the time and effort it takes to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience, we're not sure whose path was easier.

Mayim Bialik Inspired Amy Farrah Fowler

Of course, it’s not a sense of fashion or the rough upbringing we’re talking about, but the Educational background of the actress. Her own degree in neuroscience was used as the basis for her character's education and career choices. The only difference is that Amy stuck with her decision and went on to have a career in the same field.

In the finale of The Big Bang Theory, both Sheldon Cooper and Amy reach the pinnacle of their careers by winning the Nobel Prize. While that probably won't happen to Mayim Bialik, who is no longer a practicing neuroscientist, she has made the most of her education.

While all the jokes and lines on the set of The Big Bang Theory were vetted by the real science advisors, it was probably helpful to know what you're talking about without a lot of background research.

Bialik was probably the one who cracked them take after take without the need for reshoots, which is impressive in and of itself.

If you want to watch The Big Bang Theory again, you can stream your favorite episodes or start from the beginning on Max.
