With last season ending on a major cliffhanger, it's only natural to be eager to see more of the show.

The first season of a show that went on to become a smash hit was released in 2017. The Handmaid's Tale series is based on Margaret Atwood's 1985 bestselling novel about a dystopian future of a particular society.

We now have five successful seasons of the show, each of which ends on a major cliffhanger. Other than that, it's really important to highlight the fact that it seems like almost every episode is there to keep you staring at the screen with your eyes wide open, expecting for more to come.

The show touches upon a lot of difficult topics, such as oppression, religious fanaticism, feminism, and rebellion. The main character of the show, June Osborne, brilliantly portrayed by Elisabeth Moss, suffers from a lot of pain that is brought on her by many people.

Season 5 ended with June once again one step away from death, but this time Gilead was not to blame. But besides June, there are many other people whose fates hang in the balance.

“I’m really curious to see how they use this season to set up for the testaments and whether or not certain storylines will come to an end or be added into the next series. I'm also curious to see what they do with Serena and her child. Not sure if they will end the storyline here or mention them again in the next series,” Redditor Ok-examonation-5650 said.

Season 6 was announced to be the last one, so fans are really nervous. It was already stated that the new season will come in 2024. And the production of the season will start later in August this year.

The showrunners expected that it would take them nearly 6 months to shoot the whole season. Although now this all seems to be at risk because of the ongoing WGA Strike.

So let’s just wait and see what happens next. And while waiting, you can always binge-watch the previous five seasons on Hulu.
