This year’s Oscar ceremony will traditionally take place in Hollywood, at the Dolby Theater, on March 27.

People magazine has shared an exclusive first look at the stage set to host the 94th Academy Awards.

David Korins, the designer of the stage, described it as “electric” and “future-forward”. But the netizens had their own ideas about the looks of the stage.

Doesn’t it just look familiar?

If it does, you’re not alone. For example, someone saw a touch of Doctor Strange ’s Sanctum Sanctorum in it.

DC fans are here as well.

“Future-forward”, you say?

Chase Mitchell, a writer for The Tonight Show, also weighed in on the Oscars stage.

The ceremony will take place later on Sunday, March 27, with several categories to be presented during the pre-show - a decision that has already prompted some criticism, and, according to reports, even pushed some Academy members to refrain from voting.
