Is it okay to give an afterlife only to those who can afford it?

Among all the genres there exist, we think that all thighs science fiction are the most entertaining, as they dive deep in the world of fantasy and unknown, still leaving a lot to the imagination of the viewer.

There are many subgenres of sci-fi, for example, shows like Black Mirror have proven to be dark and overwhelming, while there are also shows that focus on the development of technology and not its impact, but without its horrors.

These shows are more about the changes it brings and how it affects people and their basic emotions. And if you loved, for example, how The Good Place handled that, there's a sci-fi comedy called Upload you should definitely check out, too.

Its first season premiered in May 2020 and since then two more seasons have been released. The show got 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

By the way, it was recently greenlit for its fourth (and final) season. The news came out in March this year and made the fans of the series extremely happy as the previous season ended on a major cliffhanger.

What Upload Is About?

Well, the show starts with the death of a young man, who died in a car accident. From what we find out about him in the beginning, computer programmer Nathan Brown was not a perfect human being…

Still, a premature death is not something we could wish for anybody, especially since it’s actually covered with mystery. The thing is, the car he died in was programmed to kill him.

Nathan’s girlfriend Ingrid decides to upload his conscience into the afterlife called Lakeview, which is a virtual place for the wealthy dead people, where they start their life again. There he meets his “angel” Nora, a young woman who is responsible for his time there.

Things get complicated when the two bond, creating a very uncomfortable love triangle between two living women and a dead young man. Soon Nathan realizes that something evil is going on, and they all try to solve the mystery of Lakeview.

If you are a fan of sci-fi dramedies, don’t miss to binge Upload’s three seasons on Prime, before season 4 is released.
