Yes, you’ll have time to give it a watch (or rewatch) before the Oscar ceremony.

This year’s awards season is about to wrap up on March 2 when the Academy will announce Oscar winners, though a couple of the upcoming ceremony’s frontrunners have been long concealed from the public due to different premiere dates in some countries.

This is also the case for Timothée Chalamet’s new movie A Complete Unknown that hit theatres in the US back in December, though still hasn’t arrived to the screens in countries across Europe.

However, the long wait will be over quite soon and those who haven’t yet checked the film out will have a better option rather than waiting for A Complete Unknown to start playing in theatres.

A Complete Unknown Will Arrive to Streaming Before the Oscar Ceremony

The movie will become available for a much wider audience several days before it will be revealed whether the flick will take home some of those desired statuettes or not. As Variety reports, A Complete Unknown is now set to be released on digital platforms on February 25.

Starring Chalamet as worldwide famous singer Bob Dylan, the movie follows the latter’s first steps in his future career as it sees 19-year-old Dylan arriving in New York with nothing more than just his guitar.

With a sudden rise of his popularity, Dylan has to tackle the challenges that fame brings along, as well as some controversies surrounding his name in the music industry.

A Complete Unknown Is an Oscar Frontrunner Despite Discouraging Box Office Results

The movie that now has all chances to turn Chalamet into the youngest Oscar winner in the Best Actor category is also set to compete for seven more statuettes, including the ones for Best Picture, Best Director for James Mangold, Best Supporting Actor for Edward Norton, Best Supporting Actress for Monica Barbaro, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costumes and Best Sound.

Having come as one of the most anticipated movies of 2024, A Complete Unknown received numerous accolades, eventually ending up with impressive scores of 80% and 96% from critics and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite that, the film had a doubtful box office success and earned around $97 million with a budget of $70 million.
