Oh to look for Easter eggs in a video teaser!

Ryan Reynolds could not have been more Ryan Reynolds in his video message which he used to unveil that Hugh Jackman is coming back as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. The clip has him looking for inspiration for the upcoming movie by wandering in a forest or doing things that are more mundane, if we may.

At some point, we see Reynolds seated in the restroom with a comic book in his hands. Fans could not immediately detect what kind of comic book that was, but then Benjamin Percy, a comic author and a screenwriter, came to help.

Responding to Reynolds' already viral post, Percy confirmed on Twitter that the actor was reading Wolverine #21, sharing a page from the comic that looked exactly like what the actor was holding.

As someone who was directly involved in writing the Wolverine comics, Percy jokingly suggested that Reynolds was "trolling him" — and came up with an idea.

"I am putting in my application now to be someone Wade and Wolverine blast and slash into a pile of dribbling hamburger," Percy tweeted.

While the details about the third Deadpool movie are still unknown, the writer might actually end up in the movie — this is Ryan Reynolds we're talking about. At least a couple of hints we did get in that announcement video: even putting Wolverine #21 aside, there's still black Deadpool costume, which means X-Force.

Despite the premiere being a couple of years away, fans are already buzzing with excitement about the upcoming Hugh Jackman return — even though some people believe that it would cheapen the heart-wrenching swan song his character had in Logan.

Deadpool 3 will premiere in theaters on September 6, 2024.
