No matter how loud fans' demands are, let's hear what the creators have to say.

With the mind-blowing season 3 finale, 'The Umbrella Academy ' fans are now rallying for Netflix to officially renew the show for another season. The showrunners are also eager to continue the story, with Steven Blackman teasing that he has already pitched season 4 to Netflix.

And judging by his rhetoric, season 4 might as well be the final one for the show, should Netflix greenlight it.

"I don't know how many seasons [Netflix] wants to go. I pitched them Season 4, and I know the beginning, middle and end [of it]," Blackman revealed to TVLine. "When I started the show, I really only knew the first four seasons in my mind."

It's unclear whether Netflix indicated to him that the platform would like more 'The Umbrella Academy' content, but it seems that Blackman will push for at least one season given that the idea of it has already been mapped out.

However, the thought of 'The Umbrella Academy' bidding adieu to fans after season 4 may also be upsetting for some fans, especially in the wake of how Gerard Way, the comic books writer, seems to be perfectly fine with continuing for "decades".

But Blackman has "what I think is an end to the TV show", even if Netflix decides it wants more.

Currently, the streaming platform remains mum about the future of 'The Umbrella Academy', even though both the showrunners and the fans are ready to see how the story evolves. Season 3 has left viewers with nothing short of a handful of cliffhangers: we still don't know whether the universe is safe from yet another apocalypse, it's unclear where several characters are, and old mysteries like Ben's death remain unresolved.

Despite fans being excited for season 4, Netflix's silence about the renewal and apparent lack of marketing has people worried about the show's future. Many fans fear that 'The Umbrella Academy' may be canceled. However, before making predictions, one should wait until Netflix unveils the viewing hours of the new season.

Should the show be greenlit for season 4, Blackman seems to already have a lot of things in mind for it.

"There are going to be repercussions, if we're lucky enough to have a Season 4, of the incomplete programming of the universe," Blackman told TV Line. "Someone asked me, 'Why would [Reginald] leave the kids in such a bad place?' I would argue that he thinks he might be leaving them in a good place. They've been complaining about their powers and who they are, and now he's saying, 'Look, you're free. You don't have powers anymore, there's nothing holding you back. Live your lives.' The audience gets to decide whether Hargreeves did a good or bad thing for them."

'The Umbrella Academy' season 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
