Who wouldn’t love a little romance, right?

In a world full of chaos and injustice, it’s nice to have a safe space where you can just relax and think about nothing. It’s impossible to let your hair down while watching a dystopian show or an action movie, but a romantic comedy serves the purpose perfectly.

There are so many rom-coms created over the past decades that it goes without saying that some of them will definitely end up as the genre-defying ones, and some will rest there being totally ignored by the masses.

But when a legend like Tarantino says that his favorite movie is a totally low-rated one, maybe it's time to binge watch it again.

The movie in question is controversial director Woody Allen 's Anything Else. The 2003 rom-com only has a 40% Rotten Tomatoes score, but in this case it just means nothing.

Tarantino believes that this is the example where the movie has been unfairly snubbed, and we couldn't agree more. Anything Else is not just a comedy about young love, it's a profound introduction to life as it is, without any embellishments.

At the center of the story is 21-year-old Jerry Falk, played by Jason Biggs, who we know well from the American Pie movies, and Woody Allen himself, who plays the role of aging writer/teacher David Dobel. The unlikely friendship blossoms after they realize they have a lot in common, including their fields of work.

As the story unfolds, we see that Dobel’s character is some sort of a mentor to Falk, who definitely has a lot of different issues. The young man has so many self-destructive habits it’s unclear how he survives in this world after all.

For example, he has a fear of letting go. That;s why he is stuck with people who let him down over and over and make his life miserable. These are his agent Harvey, his thief therapist and even his manipulative girlfriend who clearly doesn't love him.

With the help from his older friend, he tries to clear his life’s mess, but here comes the question. If Dobel knows it all, why is he also a loser anyway?

Well, to find out the answer you might want to check out Anything Else on Prime Video.
