If you are able to escape death 99 times, who says you'll be as lucky in a 100th time?

John Dutton is undeniably the patriarch of the family and one of the most important characters in Yellowstone, but it looks like the show is dropping gloomy hints about him for several seasons now.

Fans have noted a long time ago that Yellowstone is trying to indicate that John's health is not as good. Throughout season 3, John has been worrying that the ranch would be hard to keep together after his death because of taxes. Then, it only started getting more suspicious.

"Couple this with John's all of a sudden desire to start a "legacy" with Travis and the rodeo. Travis wanted to "do it right" and wanted John to give him 3 years, and John said, "he doesn't have 3 years," Redditor ricky_bobby86 noted.

John's desire to start a "legacy" and multiple hints on his crippling health might be an indicator that the three years he "doesn't have" might very soon be over. There is a chance that season 5 — which fans have already dubbed uneventful at best and outright stagnant at worst — will finally have John bidding adieu.

"I think the show is making the deliberate point that John is getting old, his health is beginning to fail, and he knows it," Redditor iheartsev said.

Many fans believe that Jamie will be the Dutton who will have it all in the end, even despite his everlasting feud with Beth. However, to know that for sure, fans will have to wait until the end of the season, which might as well become the end of the show.

Yellowstone Has Gone From Must-See TV to Must-Miss Disaster
