And it seems like the failed story isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Summary:

  • Zack Snyder’s epic space opera Rebel Moon has recently got its second installment on Netflix despite the first part’s horrible reviews — and the brand new movie’s streaming results are quite impressive.
  • It took only the first weekend of the run for Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver to enter the Top 10 charts in numerous countries.
  • Despite the new film’s miserable critical scores, the saga seems to be very far from its end.

Zack Snyder’s epic space opera Rebel Moon obviously wasn’t meant to end up like this, but it is what it is — the franchise’s first movie, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, kicked it off in 2023 with a very unpromising amount of negative reviews and miserable 21% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The second part of the saga seems to be even worse than that — and so far only Netflix viewers can somehow save it all.

The first movie’s total debacle didn’t stop its director from making yet another part, but it seems like the audience has a surprisingly high interest in Kora’s further adventures in an attempt to help farmers from the moon to defend their territory from the Motherworld’s menaces.

Released on April 19 on Netflix, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver got more than 10 million viewers within the first weekend of its run entering the Top 10 charts in 92 countries.

Though the saga’s second installment can’t boast of any critical acclaim holding a poor score of only 15% on Rotten Tomatoes now, its immense success among the streaming’s audience must have given Zack Snyder even more encouragement about his franchise’s future.

Ahead of the brand new film’s release, the director revealed that his certain plans for Rebel Moon expand to four films at least which, according to Snyder, “makes sense”. On top of that, he’s not giving up an idea of going bigger with six movies in total if the stars eventually align.

And they will most likely do, given that Netflix will certainly not let go of a highly streamed story, whatever the critics might say.

In this case a bunch of new movies of Snyder’s saga won’t take long to arrive as the director has confirmed that he has a lot on his mind about the future plot — and it’s a sure sign that we’re stuck with Rebel Moon at least for a while.
