No matter how many years pass, some moments only get worse.

To this day, The Big Bang Theory remains one of the most popular sitcoms. Even though the show ended almost five years ago, fans still have a lot of opinions about the way some of the characters and their storylines were handled. Unfortunately, the show has failed to maintain consistent quality, producing a number of flops along the way.

Here are 10 arcs and characters that The Big Bang Theory completely ruined.

Howard’s Brother

There was no need to bring Howard's half-brother into the show only to drop him completely and never mention him again. It is fine to want to go deeper and explore the character through his family ties, but Howard's whole family storyline was done dirty and never led to any conclusion.

Priya Koothrappali

Another sibling who really had no other purpose than to be annoying was Raj's sister, Priya. Not only did fans hate her because she was only added to the show as a tool to keep Penny and Leonard apart, but she also pushed Leonard to go against his friend in order to date her. That's not how a show about friendship is supposed to go!

Sheldon the Hoarder

On the one hand, Sheldon being attached to some things and having a hard time letting go makes sense with his overall demeanor. On the other hand, wouldn't we all have known about this? To bring it up once as a joke and never return to it feels like a case of lazy writing by someone who doesn't think too much about continuity.

Leonard Cheating

Leonard cheating on Penny should never have happened. However, Leonard cheating on Penny and telling her about it right before their wedding was one of the worst decisions he ever made. We're all for honesty, but it was hard to be happy and celebrate the couple with so many unresolved issues.

Raj and Penny

Fortunately, it wasn't quite as bad as what happened before Penny and Leonard's wedding, but it was still uncomfortable. No matter what level of intimacy these two got to that night, many fans felt it was unnecessary and were very sad to see a sweet friendship between Penny and Raj ruined by a one-night stand.

Sheldon’s Love Life

While there are many people who enjoy the couple of Sheldon and Amy and think that they balance each other out well, others feel that Sheldon wasn't even given a real chance to try to move on after their breakup. Successful or not, it would have been very entertaining to see Sheldon make a move on someone else for longer than an episode for a change.

The Cleaning Lady

One of Raj's relationships, which actually had a very interesting premise and pushed him to be a better person and grow, ended just as abruptly as it started. Not only was the cleaning lady not his one and only, but she was written out of the show in a way that left people wondering what happened to their relationship.

Unlikely Friendship

The Big Bang Theory leaned heavily on the idea of Amy becoming friends with Penny, but there was another friendship that had a lot of potential but was never explored. When viewers saw Amy and Howard jamming to Neil Diamond's hit America in the car, they knew they had the chemistry to be a very funny duo.

Penny’s Pregnancy

Penny never wanted kids, so her personal happy ending should never have been a pregnancy. However, the writers decided to go the salvation route and give her the same finale that any other romantic lead in a sitcom would have gotten. Considering that the finale was released in 2019, this sexist approach raised a lot of eyebrows.

Stuart

The whole character of Stuart deteriorated with each season. Starting out strong and even somewhat confident, Stuart experienced loss after loss, was mistreated by the entire group, and ended up depressed, miserable, and constantly self-deprecating. He deserved better, and there was nothing comedic about his suffering.
