"Already broken."

The story of the Shelby gang, who went from thieves to the most powerful crime family in town, holds a special place in the hearts of fans.

In this drama show, almost every episode shocked viewers with unexpected twists and tragic events, but there are absolutely legendary scenes that fans still remember.

1. Season 1 Episode 2

Viewers still remember the first season for the acquaintance of Thomas Shelby with his future wife and only love, Grace. Before this meeting, Thomas came to his pub, where Grace worked as a waitress.

Then Grace offered to sing him a song and let him choose whether it would be a happy or a sad one. Tommy, of course, chose the sad one. Grace warned Thomas that it would break his heart, to which he replied that it was already broken.

2. Season 2 Episode 6

The second season ends with the execution of Thomas' plan, involving his entire family and the Peaky Blinders, to foil Churchill's plan to order the police to kill Thomas. The monologue that Shelby delivers before his death (as he himself thought) was remembered by everyone.

Shelby, smoking his last cigarette, digs his own grave in a deserted field, regretting that he never confessed his feelings to Grace.

3. Season 3 Episode 2

Perhaps one of the most heart-wrenching episodes. When Tommy and Grace finally got married, some unexpected guests showed up at the party. The cursed necklace Grace was wearing did its part: Tommy was unable to save his loved one.

4. Season 3 Episode 6

One of the most intense and often quoted scenes by fans: the conversation between Thomas Shelby and Alfie Solomons, played by Tom Hardy. Tommy learns that Alfie was involved in a conspiracy and many other things that made life difficult for the Shelby family and put his son in danger.

Thomas told Alfie that he had crossed the line. The episode may not be as shocking, but the level of suspense is definitely one of the most memorable.

5. Season 3 Episode 6

At the family meeting, Thomas distributes money to all of his loved ones for the help and sacrifices they have made for him. However, at the end of the meeting, Tommy reports that he has made a deal and now the police will come for the whole family to put them all in jail and announce the verdict: the death penalty.

He assures that this is necessary and that he will get them all out, but his very action is seen as a betrayal of the family, so the arrest scene, set to the song Life in a Glasshouse by Radiohead, is so unexpected and shocking that the audience will definitely need time to digest it, catch their breath and come to their senses.

6. Season 4 Episode 1

Tommy's brother, John Shelby, died right at the beginning of season 4. Despite the fact that many of the show's supporting characters often died suddenly, it was at this point that viewers realized that the creators were ready to kill off the main stars as well.

John died in an ambush by the Italian Mafia. Even now, the audience finds it difficult to watch the scene because of how much his death rocked the entire show.

7. Season 4 Episode 6

Arthur Shelby didn't die like John, but for a moment, viewers were convinced that the character everyone adored had truly said his final goodbye.

Killing off two Shelby brothers in a single season is pretty over-the-top, especially when both cases are so vicious and unexpected. This is what makes his "death" even more violent: viewers had no time to come to terms with John's passing.

8. Season 4 Episode 6

Alfie didn't actually pass away, but his "death" and resurrection were completely overwhelming. Tommy cannot stand another betrayal by Alfie and goes to the beach to kill him for real out of revenge.

Alfie allows him to do so, realizing that he was wrong and knowing that he has nothing left to live for. Even though Tom Hardy's portrayal of this legendary figure was entirely villainous, it was still fascinating to watch.

9. Season 6 Episode 1

Since actress Helen McCrory passed away, fans were sadly aware that the brilliant Polly Gray would not be making an appearance in the final season. What fans didn't know was what the showrunners would do with her character.

Polly was killed at the start of the sixth season, and Tommy received her corpse along with the statement that he was to blame for her passing. The opening scene of Black Day, the first episode of the last season, featured a painting by Rebecca Foster and Polly's funeral.

10. Season 6 Episode 6

The final episode, which wrapped up the entire journey of Thomas Shelby, was wholesome and heartbreaking. We saw the death of Michael Gray – Polly's son and Tommy's enemy – and the appearance of Alfie Solomons and the even more unexpected news of Thomas' illness, as well as rare footage of Polly Gray completing her story.

The viewer, who has spent nearly 10 years with the Shelby family and has seen the darkness in Thomas's soul turn to light, redemption, and ultimately healing, underwent a transformation of sorts during the episode.
