Unless you are a fan of the prequels that couldn't care less about the canon.

Many fans have been hoping that that The Winchesters will bring them back into the world of Supernatural, but the vibe is off and so is the storyline. While the embattled prequel is on a hiatus until late January, let's explore some of the ideas that could have been much better Supernatural spinoffs than The Winchesters.

Bobby and Rufus Spinoff

According to fans, the Bobby and Rufus separate show could have been "golden". If you are having trouble remembering who is Rufus Turner, we remind you that he is an old friend of Bobby who helped him out when his wife was possessed by a demon. Rufus tragically died when Bobby (possessed by the Khan worm) stabbed him, but since when Supernatural had any trouble resurrecting dead characters?

"It might be fun to do a current Bobby and Rufus spinoff, but spend a lot of time doing flashbacks to younger actors. I'd LOVE to see what their dynamic was like when they were younger. The chemistry between Jim and Steven is a big part of what makes them so entertaining, though," Redditor kh-38 said.

Crowley Prequel

If there should be a Supernatural prequel, just let it be a show about Crowley and his rise to power. Starting off as a crossroads demon and ending up on a Hell throne? We're game. Besides, over many years, some Crowley fans believed that his history could be way more complicated.

Back in season 8, he hinted that he had a fling with Naomi, leading many people to believe that he also could have been an angel turned into a demon. After all, the spinoff could delve further into his mother-son relationship with Rowena.

Wayward Sisters

Unlike the previous two ideas, this one could have actually happened one day. Wayward Sisters was a title of an episode that aired in season 13 of Supernatural that was supposed to set up a spinoff with a line-up of female hunters, but something went wrong. Up to this day, it's unclear why Andrew Dabb, one of Supernatural showrunners, ended up ditching Wayward Sisters as a spinoff, with some people suggesting it was due to "girl power" overkill.

Ultimately, the only Supernatural spinoff we have as of now is The Winchesters, set to return on The CW on January 24.
