Missing Villanelle? This is a closer look at the underrated Jodie Comer filmography. A true stan knows all of these, do you?

Many people fell in love with Jodie Comer's wickedly charismatic portrayal of Villanelle in Killing Eve. But while this iconic role may have put her in the spotlight, we think that it's time to dig deeper into Comer's impressive filmography.

The truth is, some of her most nuanced performances have been flying under the radar for years. And these roles are just another proof of her incredible ability to bring depth to every character she touches.

For those who've been craving more of Comer's screen presence (and honestly, who isn't?), we have everything you are looking for. These are 5 overlooked projects that every Jodie Comer fan has to watch. They might just make you fall in love with her even more.

Help (2021): A Haunting Story of Our Recent Past

Get emotionally prepared for how deeply this one will affect you. Help is a gut-punch reminder of what our healthcare workers faced in those early, terrifying days of COVID-19.

Set in a Liverpool care home, Comer plays Sarah, a care worker who finds her true calling in connecting with patients. When the pandemic hits, her world turns into a nightmare of overwhelming responsibilities. Alongside Stephen Graham, Comer delivers a performance so believable you'll forget you're watching a fictional movie. It's more of a documentary.

100% that Help got on Rotten Tomatoes is totally deserved. Though we think that this movie isn't talked about enough these days.

My Mad Fat Diary (2013-2015): The Brilliant Coming-of-Age Story

The 90s were golden years for a lot of people. The music was better, we had cooler fashion. Overall everything was way nicer. Well, My Mad Fat Diary is the series that perfectly captures that precious 90s vibe and more.

Set in Cool Britannia, this show dives deep into friendship, mental health and growing up. It does it all while keeping its sense of humor. Comer absolutely kills it as Chloe Gemell, a friend of the main character and the popular girl.

As usual, Comer brings layers to a character who could have been one-dimensional if not for showing us that everyone (even the seemingly perfect) has their own battles to fight.

But don't think that My Mad Fat Diary targets only the teenage audience. That's one of the rare cases where they really tackled the mental health topic smart enough to actually relate to the characters.

You can find all 3 seasons of My Mad Fat Diary on Hulu right now.

England Is Mine (2017): An Underrated Biopic

Don't let that 54% Rotten Tomatoes score fool you. This Morrissey biopic is a hidden treasure. Following the pre-Smiths years of one of music's most controversial figures, this film captures the essence of the 70s Manchester in all its gritty glory.

Even though Comer plays a supporting role, she brings wit to the screen every second she's there. She manages to make a lasting impression as one of the few bright spots in Morrissey's somewhat gloomy world.

If you're into music history or just love a good British indie film, this one's worth checking out. England Is Mine is free on Kanopy and Plex.

Remember Me (2014): Spine-Chilling Mini Series

Comer can do it all, including intense thrillers. In this haunting three-part BBC mini-series she plays Hannah, a teenager caught up in a supernatural mystery when an elderly man moves into a nursing home.

The show brilliantly mixes classic ghost story elements with a very modern take on the genre. And yes, you guessed it, Comer absolutely nails the balance between skepticism and growing fear as strange events start piling up.

While it might not be the lighthearted watch, Remember Me is totally worth it. Seeing Jodie tackle supernatural horror is something you don't want to miss.

You can catch Remember Me on Fandango at Home, Amazon Video or Apple TV+ if you're in the mood for some proper British drama.

Thirteen (2016): The One That Got Away

Okay, this might be the most intense one on our list. Even more intense than previous Remember Me. Thirteen is a psychological drama that'll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

In what might be her most challenging role before Killing Eve, Comer plays Ivy Moxam, a woman who escapes captivity after thirteen years. It's dark, and it shows yet another side of Comer's incredible range, capturing the confusion, fear and determination of someone learning to exist with freedom again.

Thirteen deals with trauma and family relationships. Also, seeing Comer navigate such heavy material really shows why she became such a big deal later on.

Watch it now on Hoopla completely for free.
