It's hard to live in a world where nothing is fair.

Now that the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is only a few days old, it's time to analyze the results and even look back a bit. While there are many shows that have been celebrated now or over the course of 75 years, we feel that some of the most powerful series were unfairly sidelined for no particular reason.

Here are seven absolutely worthy shows that never got their Emmy award, or deserve more than they got.

1. Better Call Saul ( 2015-2022)

Of course, we will start with this remarkable spinoff of the Breaking Bad series that managed to become even more popular than the original show. Better Call Saul was nominated for Emmy 53 times, but still never got the prize for the outstanding work of the cast and creators. It doesn’t mean though that the fans love it less for that reason.

“I’ve never watched anything because it’s won an Emmy, but I like Bob Odenkirk. I like Rhea Seehorn. I would like to see them get recognized for their work because I know it would probably mean something to them if they win,” Redditor PowSuperMum said.

It seems terribly unjust that a highly praised show like that would still be a loser, after so many nominations. Especially considering the fact that its predecessor, Breaking Bad, won 16 Emmys.

2. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (2005-)

The iconic sitcom has only received three Emmy nominations, despite being on air since 2005. The last nomination they got was in 2015, and even then they weren't nominated in any of the main categories like acting, writing, and directing. All they got was Best Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or something. Ans have lost even in this category.

The cast of the show make jokes about their fate, but we can imagine how painful it must be for them to never get a nomination in a major category.

3. The Wire (2002-2008)

The Wire is another show that has never been recognized for its brilliance at the Emmy Awards. The show was nominated twice in the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series category – in 2005 and 2008. And nothing about acting, even though Idris Elba and Michael K Williams did an excellent job there.

The HBO show was released in 2002, and there were other big shows like The Sopranos dominating television at the time, but it still makes no sense that the show that is considered one of the best ever made had so little recognition.

4. The Leftovers (2014-2017)

One nomination is all The Leftovers has received in all its years on the small screen. The three fantastic seasons were not enough to gather fans all over the world and win the cast an Emmy. And the nomination the show received was not even for that, it was for Best Guest Star Performance… And all of that even after being highly appraised by critics.

5. Twin Peaks ( 1990-1991, 2017)

Now, let's turn to some shows that may have won an Emmy or two, but deserved so much more than they actually got. There are two editions of the show, one was released in 1990 and the second in 2017. Well, it seems that the first one got a little luckier, because the show received two awards back then. One for the costumes, and the other for the editing.

The second season, which is considered a masterpiece, unfortunately didn't get anything. Even the brilliant performance of Kyle MacLachlan did not get at least one nomination.

6. Gilmore Girls ( 2000-2007)

Gilmore Girls is another iconic series that never got enough recognition in terms of award winning. The show was on air for seven extraordinary seasons, but was shockingly only nominated once in 2004… and for makeup. Well, at least they won it! The fans think that the reason may be bad timing.

“I wonder, if Gilmore Girls was on now, would it get the recognition it deserved? Don’t change anything – just lift the show from 2000, plop it into the mid-2010s, and have it premiere now as it was. (And maybe air it on a more prestigious network or streamer.) I’d hope so,” Redditor mizbizsav said.

7. Peaky Blinders ( 2013-2022)

And the absolute loser of our list is actually the show that you would never even think of turning a blind eye to. This iconic BBC show starring beloved A-list actor Cillian Murphy never even received an Emmy nomination, and that's just something we can't make peace with.

Apart from Murphy, the cast of the show consists of some other incredible actors like Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sam Claflin and many more. And the fact that some other British shows, like The Crown, won a bunch of awards and this one was never even mentioned in between just hints at some games being played behind closed curtains.
