And no, we're not even talking about the Maradeurs (even though that is still a dream).

The Wizarding World is rich in stories that the seven books and eight movies simply did not manage to embrace. Since the end of the main saga and questionable success of the Fantastic Beasts prequel movies, Harry Potter lovers have been fantasizing about other spinoffs the magical universe could have – and you know what?

Hear us out: a Tom Riddle prequel as a villain origin story.

The idea has been pitched by Redditor Keto14747, who suggested a pretty impressive-sounding outline for a prequel series.

"He always was described as an incredible charming, handsome and ambitious man. I would like this antagonist to be more than just a guy who got corrupted so much he is barely human. You could show his uprising from his perspective, the one of a deatheater, and maybe the one of an Auror hunting him. I believe that would make some great scenes, just imagine an auror who has to deal with superiors in the magisterium saying things like: I am not on his side, of course not, but he does have a point..." the Redditor suggested.

Naturally, Riddle's downfall into the darkness did not happen overnight, so the process of him turning into the most intimidating dark wizard would be fun to watch.

Fans agreed with the idea, but noted that the Voldemort prequel has to actually be a villain origin story, and not a Cruella or Maleficent type of movie that showed the iconic villains as not so bad. One of the fans offered the example of Suzanne Collins' The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as a perfect way to tell the story of a villain without turning them all sympathetic and borderline nice and misunderstood people.

Harry Potter's Best Casting Is Not Who You Think (Most Likely)

As of now, however, there is no news as to the Wizarding World securing any kind of prequels in any form except the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The Newt Scamander story is set for two more movies, but the three films that have already been released do not seem to be landing as much fan love as creators hoped for.

The premiere dates for the two upcoming Beasts movies are yet to be scheduled.
