There’s never too much legal drama.

Suits, the series about two talented lawyers Mike and Harvey, was released in 2011. Throughout the years of broadcasting, it managed not to lose its positions, but in 2019 was closed, not because of low ratings, but because of a lack of ideas from the creator of the show, Aaron Korsh.

White Collar Made Its Way Back to Netflix

In addition, Suits became a rare example of a show getting a second life on Netflix – after arriving on the platform four years after its finale, the series almost immediately rose to the top, breaking Netflix's record by reaching more than 3 billion minutes watched in its first seven weeks.

Now, another brilliant legal drama is trying to replicate Suits' success – White Collar returned to Netflix on April 1 after a six-year absence.

What is White Collar About?

After nearly four years in prison, con man Neal Caffrey escapes just four months before his release – his beloved Kate has broken up with him under suspicious circumstances and disappeared, leaving only mysteries in her wake.

To unravel them, Neal negotiates a parole deal for himself in exchange for helping the FBI uncover elaborate scams and frauds of which he is the unrivaled master.

His partner Peter Burke, who once sent him to prison, keeps an eye on Neal. That’s how the exemplary agent and respectable family man Peter forms a dream duo with the most unpredictable con man in the US.

White Collar Is a Brilliant Legal Drama With a Charismatic Lead Duo

The creators of White Collar seem to have taken the best of other detective shows – there is an exciting plot, brilliant acting, subtle humor and a charismatic detective consultant.

The pace of the narrative manages to keep up throughout all six seasons, which is backed up by the show's Rotten Tomatoes rating of a near-perfect 96% from critics and 92% from audiences.

Stylish and charming, Matt Bomer's lead character will win you over in the first few minutes. And his partner, played by Tim DeKay, is no inferior – he is an equally talented FBI agent, the only one who has managed to catch Neal, twice.

The main strength of the series is undoubtedly the interaction between these two, their bromance chemistry, and how their relationship evolves from formal "cop-criminal" to friendship.

In addition, unlike many other detective shows, White Collar does not investigate murders, but much more subtle crimes, like financial fraud or forgery of art objects. This show will not have gallons of blood on the screens, but there will be some sophisticated mind games.
