Last night, at the annual Golden Globes award ceremony, Angela Bassett walked the red carpet in a stunning silver gown and received the long-deserved Golden Globe award for best supporting actress for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

As a true icon in the industry, it's no surprise that the award was well-deserved and special to her. However, when chatting with E! News recently, Bassett gave us an even more special moment.

When asked about her role in the record-breaking Wakanda Forever, Bassett gushed about the film and the impact it's had on audiences and the industry. She even mentioned that it's a "great story with a lot of art."

But, the real moment came when the journalist brought up Lupita Nyong'o's recent comment about wanting Idris Elba to join the Black Panther series. Bassett, without hesitation, replied, "Oh, if I could...Yeah, I second that notion."

Can we all just take a moment to let that sink in? Angela Bassett, the one and only, wants Idris Elba to join the Black Panther universe. This is not just any ordinary fan request, but one coming from a Hollywood heavyweight and a member of the Black Panther family.

We can only imagine the dynamic and talent that Elba would bring to the already incredible cast. Fans have been clamoring for a third installment since the second film's release, and with this news, the excitement is only going to continue to build. For now, it's not clear whether Marvel will indeed make a threequel, but, considering Wakanda Forever's critical and commercial success (not to mention a Golden Globe award), it's entirely possible.

In the words of Bassett herself, "let's go back and get some."

We can't wait to see what the future holds for the Black Panther franchise and if Idris Elba will join the team. As for now, all we can do is wait and hope that Elba takes note of the calls for him to join the Wakanda Forever gang. After all, if David Dastmalchian can return to Ant-Man in a different role, why can't Idris Elba?
