Stephen Amell is one of the few SAG-AFTRA members to openly oppose the strike, calling it "myopic."

The 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike has been going on for almost three weeks now and is not likely to end any time soon.

While at first most of Hollywood's A-listers were simply showing solidarity with their lesser-known colleagues who were picketing here and there, some of them have now joined the ranks, such as Bryan Cranston, who recently delivered a fiery speech in Times Square.

Surprisingly, not all actors seem to be as unanimous in their support of the strike.

Stephen Amell, best known for his appearances on Arrow (as well as other DC series on The CW) and Heels TV shows, revealed at Raleigh's GalaxyCon that he doesn't exactly support the ongoing strike.

The actor explained that while he supports his union, he is actually against the strike and finds it "incredibly frustrating."

Amell called such a negotiating tactic "reductive" and "myopic," which is in stark contrast to the viewpoint of the rest of his colleagues.

Fans are understandably puzzled by Amell's statement, as he is perhaps the biggest member of SAG-AFTRA to openly admit to being against the strike.

They point out that Stephen may be the only one being "myopic" here, as not only could this lead to him being blacklisted by the union, but he has also failed to propose a worthy alternative to the strike.

Some even believe that such "ridiculous contrarianism" might suggest that the actor is simply trying to curry favor with the studios in case the strike fails without any compromise between the two sides.

While such a position does seem a bit odd, as Amell will also benefit if the strike is successful, everyone is entitled to their opinions, no matter how controversial they may be.

Though for now, the only alternative to the strike seems to be quitting acting altogether.

There is no clear indication as to when the SAG-AFTRA strike will end, so it will most likely affect even more movies and TV shows in the near future.
