Jaskier comes face to face with a doppelganger in The Witcher: Blood Origin's opening scene.

A new scene from The Witcher: Blood Origin featuring a doppelganger encounter with Jaskier has been released by Netflix.

The opening scene of episode 1 shows Jaskier (played by Joey Baty) finding himself in the midst of a battlefield with his hands tied and surrounded by frozen warriors.

Suddenly, he comes face to face with another version of himself, leading Jaskier to suspect that he is facing a Doppler, a creature known for its ability to change its appearance. However, the mysterious stranger tells Jaskier that he is not a Doppler.

The scene was posted on the official YouTube page for The Witcher franchise, with a commentary explaining that Jaskier is caught in the middle of a conflict between the Temerian army and the Scoia'taels.

The action in The Witcher: Blood Origin takes place 1200 years before the events depicted in The Witcher, during a time when the Continent was only inhabited by elves and dwarves. The show will explore the magical cataclysm known as the Conjunction of the Spheres, which brought people and monsters to the Continent.

Jaskier will serve as the narrator alongside the elfess Sinchai (played by Minnie Driver). It is possible that Sinchai is the one responsible for stopping time and creating the doppelganger of Jaskier. The series is set to premiere on December 25th, with four episodes in total.
