The actor was quick to find a new project to work on after his out-of-the-blue exit as Superman and The Witcher, but that does not necessarily mean all problems are solved now.

Henry Cavill will be starring and exec producing a series adaptation of Warhammer 40,000, the miniature sci-fi wargame that is spearheaded by Amazon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, fans are still concerned about his future in the wake of his recent walkouts as Superman and Geralt of Rivia.

While Cavill parting ways with DC just weeks after announcing his return was heartbreaking for many fans, his exit as The Witcher happened before that, and was supposedly based on creative differences with Netflix showrunners. This very fate could also be repeated with Amazon's Warhammer, as fans fear that Cavill — who is a fan of the game — might end up being frustrated with how Amazon adapts the series.

"Warhammer will be on Amazon, the company that made Rings of Power, a show that Tolkien fans are not happy about," Twitter user JTMR1935 noted.

It's true that Amazon failed to satisfy every Tolkien fan with its take on the Lord of the Rings universe, even though many people argue that The Rings of Power haters are biased and deliberately trash the show even for things it deserves praise for. Others, however, believe that Amazon "ruined" Tolkien's legacy and never captured the spirit of Middle-earth.

Now, Warhammer 40,000 fans are concerned that the same fate might await the upcoming adaptation, even with Cavill in charge.

"I'm not sure about this at all. I've always loved 40k being a niche hobby, I'm not sure that 40k going more mainstream will necessarily be a good thing," Twitter user LemanPuss said.

Even if Amazon does end up securing the deal and acquiring the series, fans hope they will get someone who loves and respects the source material so that the lore is not "destroyed" by the adaptation.

The newly-announced Warhammer adaptation does not have any writers or showrunners attached yet, but it is known that Vertigo Entertainment is set to exec produce the series. Amazon is yet to officially confirm the status of the deal on the show.
