Why I Think Wednesday Is Hyde’s New Master: I Found This Theory & Can’t Let Go

Volume 1’s ending has everyone speculating, and one fan theory on Tyler and Wednesday feels really, really plausible.
Wednesday season 2 is in full swing, having left fans craving for more after episode 4’s intense ending. If you are yet to watch it and don’t want heavy spoilers that are ahead, it’s time to stop reading; if you are all in, let’s not waste any time.
In the final moments of Volume 1, Wednesday is thrown out the Willow Hill hospital’s window, presumably by Hyde, as the asylum is suddenly freed. It could be only natural for Tyler to do that to Wednesday; their lovers-to-enemies thing could have explained it. However, I’m confident that Wednesday wasn’t killed — and that Tyler made sure of that.
The only question is… why?
Well, I went searching for answers on Reddit — and I found one. Redditor Altruistic_Leg_4241 believes that Wednesday has unknowingly become Tyler’s new master. The theory even gives a perfect explanation of why he threw her out the window: it may be because she told him to.
“And now for the most interesting part — in the finale of Part 1, he throws Wednesday out the window, and her voice-over says she made everything worse, much worse. What if, at the moment when Hyde ran up to her by the window and stopped, she started mocking him again? She might have said: Do it, finish it, if you’ve got the guts. Do it and run — that’s what you wanted, isn’t it? — without having any idea she was his master. That way, she unknowingly gave her first command to him. And he obeyed,” the theory says.
Who Is Tyler’s Master Now, Really?
In season 1, Tyler was controlled by Laurel Gates a.k.a. Marilyn Thornhill. However, in the end of season 2, she dies by Tyler’s Hyde claws — even though we know that a Hyde who kills his master is doomed.
This could mean two things: either Volume 2 will focus on Tyler’s imminent demise, or he already has a new master. It might as well be Wednesday; after all, the two do share an emotional connection needed to establish that kind of bond.
Tyler pushing her out the window fits in the theory: he didn’t kill her, and there’s a chance he could be doing what she unknowingly ordered.
