Startefacts.com respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This page explains how to notify us if you believe material published on this site infringes your copyright.

Our use of film and television material

Startefacts.com publishes news, criticism and commentary about film and television. Posters, stills and promotional images are used to illustrate that commentary and remain the property of their respective rights holders. We believe such use constitutes fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. Where a rights holder disagrees, we will review the material promptly on receipt of a valid notice.

Filing a copyright infringement notice

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on this site in a way that constitutes infringement, please send a written notice that includes all of the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
3. The exact URL or URLs on Startefacts.com where the material appears, so that we can locate it.
4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices cannot be processed. Please send your notice through the form on our Contacts page with the subject line "DMCA Notice".

What happens next

We review every valid notice. If the claim is substantiated, we will remove or disable access to the material, normally within five business days of receipt, and inform the author who published it.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
3. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address, together with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in your district and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

Repeat infringers

Accounts and contributors who repeatedly infringe the copyright of others will have their access to the site terminated.
