Taika Waititi's take on Thor and his aesthetics has certainly raised some eyebrows, but it looks like the majority of fans are actually quite supportive of his creative approach.

Thor looks quite like 80s movie character in the debut 'Thor: Love and Thunder ' trailer, and Waititi seems to have used everything, from tiny little details (such as Thor's red trucker hat) to that nostalgic Guns N' Roses song, to create somewhat retro atmosphere, something that Marvel fans would hardly associate with Thor before. Still, somehow this 80s Thor, while being inaccurate, works and actually makes people happy.

While you certainly couldn't find Thor looking like this in original Marvel comics, the majority of fans are happy to roll with the new direction – that miraculously suits Chris Hemsworth 's bright persona. Some people were quick to remind everyone else that there's something more important than style – the message it conveys, the point.

Plus the story arc is actually the same as in the comics, where Thor too had to go through some soul-searching as the God who doesn't want to be a king of Asgard.

Of course, some Marvel fans still wish for comic faithful Thor, but that ship apparently sailed long ago when 'Thor: The Dark World' failed to perform at the box office and Kenneth Branagh lost his chance to stay for the trilogy. 'Thor: Love and Thunder' is set to premiere July 8.
