Is it even worth waiting at this point?

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you may have heard about the drama surrounding Yellowstone. More specifically, star Kevin Costner and his tight filming schedule.

As Costner continues to work on his own western movie Horizon as a co-writer, producer, and director, it continues to take more and more time from the Yellowstone shooting process. In the official statements, both sides of the alleged conflict are respectful towards each other. However, there were some not-so-friendly incidents on social media and plenty of rumors that make people think that the conflict is bigger than we thought.

According to Puck.com, negotiations with Costner could take so long, that the second half of the fifth season won't air until this November. Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan even went as far as saying that things are so bleak, they might write Costner's character off from the show and start over again with a new lead.

Not everyone is ready to support that decision: fans say that without Costner, there would be no Yellowstone.

And, even if Costner and Sheridan would be able to find the common ground, at this point, fans are simply not sure if it would be worth the wait.

"It's finally happened. Season 5 has solidified my newfound frustration for this show," Redditor Lepube said, going on to add that they have "officially given up on this series."

In dozens of comments, fans show their disappointment in the series' writing. Some are getting bored of the countless country music montages that seem to be there just to cover holes in the plot. Others miss the political intrigue. Either way, people seem to agree that season 5 doesn't do the show any justice.

Whether or not Costner returns to his character, he won't be able to affect the plot in the way that many fans want him to. However, let's hope for the best and see where negotiations would lead, so Yellowstone season 5 gets an ending — one way, or another.
