The unpopular fan opinion that Japril doesn't work might actually have grounds.

Romantic drama plays a huge role in Grey's Anatomy. From Derek and Meredith to Teddy and Owen, fans have been captivated by the show's relationship storylines that hugely contributed to the show's impressive viewership.

One particular romantic arc has been given more attention than the others throughout the show. While being one of the most-loved couples, Jackson Avery and April Kepner had a controversial relationship that didn't sit quite well with all the fans.

Japril, as the couple is known among fans, has gained fans' love for the sweet and steamy moments they shared early on in their relationship.

Then, it seemed that they had the potential to become the best couple in Grey's Anatomy. Viewers loved them for providing a mix of emotions, but their tumultuous and somewhat unhealthy dynamic left some fans feeling uneasy with certain aspects of their relationship.

Meredith's 5 Most Hilariously Incompetent Moments on Grey's Anatomy

Japril being a disaster is what fans discussed in a recent Reddit thread that started with an unpopular opinion that April and Jackson were toxic and wrong for each other. Turns out, there are many Grey's Anatomy fans who agree with the opinion. And they have very good reasons to do so.

It is hard to deny that Jackson and April had very little in common. Super-religious April raised in a small town and atheist Jackson born in a rich family were hard to imagine together. Their core values have always seemed to be completely different. That and their inability to properly communicate might have created an interesting dynamic at first, but was wrong for a long-running relationship.

One thing they have in common, according to fans, is being toxic to each other and other people they had relationships with. The way they treated Matthew and Stephanie and the whole divorce arc made many fans jump off the Japril train.

Fans also noted that Japril was the most ruined relationship in the entire show. It seemed that the writers decided to make their romantic storyline as dramatic as possible. All the tragic twists totally destroyed their whole relationship and made them wrong for each other.

"They used to be my favorite couple but now the endgame thing just makes me cringe because it's impossible for me to take it seriously," one of the fans summed up the discussion.

Fans think both April and Jackson deserve better than each other at this point.
