Got any ideas which one we are talking about?

There are many movies made by famous directors that are praised by the viewers no matter how long ago they were released and what they are about. One of such directors with worldwide recognition is of course none other than Guillermo del Toro.

The acclaimed director is known for creating iconic gems like Mimic, The Devil's Backbone, Hellboy, and more recent films like these two Oscar-winning features, The Shape of Water and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.

So there’s no wonder why streaming platforms want to add his movies to their libraries. On April 1, another iconic Del Toro masterpiece drops on Hulu. We are talking about 2013 Pacific Rim, the 72%-rated science fiction movie.

What Is Pacific Rim About?

Del Toro is famous for his monstrous universes, and Pacific Rim is not an exception. The film centers on a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures called Kaiju. When the deadly fight begins, a former pilot and a trainee have to team up in order to save the world from the seemingly upcoming apocalypse.

But how can they do that? Well, there's a special weapon that could help them in the form of dangerous robots called Jaegers. They are operated by the two pilots, whose minds are linked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers prove to be almost defenseless against the merciless Kaiju.

The movie was a commercial success, and it's no wonder why. Who wouldn't love an action-packed disaster movie about robots killing monsters? That's what the fans of the movie love about it, and they don't want it to pretend to be a deep drama with life-changing thoughts.

“I think with these sorts of movies you have to go into it like a little kid. You have to behave like you would have when you were a kid. You didn't really notice the acting , you noticed the action and the big monsters and the colors and the fun. I mean I really love this movie. It owns what it is and isn't trying to be anything different,” Redditor Read_books_1984 said.

Pacific Rim lands on Hulu on April 1, so mark your calendars if you are a fan of science fiction tales.
