More dragons, more problems.

Season 2 of House of the Dragon is not set to air until 2024. But there is already excitement about some of the dragons set to feature in it.

So, here's a list of the dragons that are rumoured to be flying onto our screens:

Vermithor – This huge dragon is ridden by Hugh Hammer – and we pretty much know he'll be making an appearance as he had a short cameo in the final episode of season 1.

This dragon is almost as big as Vhagar and his original rider was King Jaehaerys Targaryen. He has been without a rider since Jaehaerys died but it's anticipated that his new rider will tame him in the upcoming series.

Dreamfyre – At nearly 100 years old, Dreamfyre is one of the oldest dragons in Westeros. And it seems there is a strong chance that the eggs that Daenerys gets in GoT are Dreamfyre's. So, she may have a key role in HotD season 2.

Her rider is Helaena Targaryen and the two have a very strong bond.

Sunfyre – Sunfyre stands out due to his gold and pink scales. But don't let his appearance fool you. He may be young and look pretty, but he's a ferocious beast.

He is ridden by King Aegon II and will play a major role in the battle for supremacy with Rhaenyra and, presumably, in future seasons.

Tessarion – Another deceptively attractive dragon, Tessarion is blue and has an orange eye. Seeing her in battle is going to be an experience in itself as she breathes blue flames! Tessarion is a young dragon who is quite small and will be ridden by Daeron Targaryen who viewers are yet to meet.

We'll have to wait until the show launches to find out what the pair have been doing while the events leading up to the civil war were being played out in season 1.

Moondancer – If it's possible to describe a dragon as petite, then that's Moondancer. She's no bigger than a horse and is tiny in comparison to the likes of Vhagar, but she moves at speed and is pretty nippy in battle.

She is bonded with Baela Velaryon and you can expect to see the rider and her green dragon battling it out with Sunfyre during Aegon's assault on Dragonstone.

Tyraxes – Bonded with Joffrey Velaryon, Tyraxes will have little to do with the war that goes on around him. This is because Rhaenyra protects her son from going into battle.

Tyraxes is black in colour and medium in size and, while we may not see him becoming too heavily involved in the war, expect him to have a few moments that get his wings flapping and the fire flowing.

The wild dragons – These beasts are untamed and pretty much untameable.

The three most notable are the notorious Sheepstealer who got his name because, well he steals sheep, Cannibal who is even more notorious due to the fact that he eats tamed dragons if he gets a chance, and Grey Ghost, a solitary dragon who is rarely seen by man or beast.
