Tuesday, you will be forever missed.

Summary:

  • Chicago Fire is an NBC procedural drama that has been on the air since 2012.
  • The Dalmatian Tuesday was brought to Firehouse 51 by Darren Ritter because she suffered from separation anxiety.
  • Back in 2022, Tuesday died, which is why there have been no appearances of her since season 10.

Although we all watch TV shows and movies to follow the plot and the behavior of the people, the appearance of pets in the picture is always a pleasant bonus. Always crowd favorites, they often steal the spotlight from even the most beloved actors and characters, so the viewers always notice both their presence and their disappearance.

Working with animals on camera is always challenging, so not every creative team is willing to give the pet even occasional appearance in the background. This fact made Tuesday, the dog of Chicago Fire's Firehouse 51, even more special for the viewers.

However, from season 10 until now, Tuesday has not appeared on camera. What happened and why didn't the show mention it? Unfortunately, there is no chance for the return of the audience's favorite dalmatian.

What Happened to Chicago Fire’s Dog?

According to Tuesday's off-camera trainer Christine Mahaney's Instagram post, Tuesday passed away in May 2022 due to unexpected kidney issues. Beloved by the entire cast and thousands upon thousands of viewers, the dog made his final Chicago Fire appearance in the episode The Magnificent City of Chicago, the season 10 finale.

Brought to the firehouse by Darren Ritter for her separation anxiety, Tuesday was instantly loved by everyone on the team. Even though she wasn't very well trained and didn't really want to be trained, as Stella proved in an episode of The Solution to Everything, she cheered everyone up and looked the best for the cameras.

Since all Dalmatians look pretty much the same, it would've been possible for Chicago Fire to find another dog to replace Tuesday and bring her back to the show. However, given the attachment that had clearly already been formed, and all the issues that working with animals brings to the set, it was decided to just let the dog go quietly.

Tuesday's presence will forever be missed, not only by the Firehouse 51 team, but by viewers everywhere. Especially in seasons like season 12, currently airing on NBC. An emotional support in moments of cast departures, as we've already had with Alberto Rosende and will soon have with Kara Killmer, would have been priceless.

If you want to see how the crew is doing now and how they will adjust to the new reality with Sylvie Brett out of Chicago, be sure to tune in to NBC every Wednesday to not miss another episode.
