Some may call it luck, while others just caught a true talent.

Not everyone gets a chance to show their talent in Hollywood: with so many artists, actors, and performers of all kinds, it's impossible for the industry to invite everyone.

In order to make it, get all the fame, and build the net worth of your dreams, you have to be extremely dedicated and fight for every audition.

This is also a story you usually hear from those who have made it through various rejections and many times balancing on the edge of poverty.

But every now and then a success story comes along that you can only imagine in a movie, the story of Aubrey Plaza's crazy first week in Los Angeles.

Of course, it took the actress some time to get there. She went to Los Angeles to secure a role in Funny People by doing a chemistry read with Seth Rogen.

All other meetings were arranged by casting director Allison Jones, who took a special interest in the actress, who didn't even have her own representative at the time.

So Plaza was sent to meet Greg Daniels and Mike Schur, who were writing the pilot for Parks and Rec at the time and took great inspiration from their meeting.

Another life-changing event was auditioning with Edgar Wright to direct Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Although it did not go as smoothly as one would hope, Aubrey Plaza still charmed Wright enough to get the role.

The actress reflected on these events once again on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast:

“It was three kinda huge things that I did, and then I eventually found out I got all three of them, which just does not happen. I don't know what was going on that week. <...> I think I just had no idea how big these meetings were, and so maybe there was an element of, it seemed like I didn't care so much, or I don't know, but it worked out!”

All three of these projects were a huge breakthrough for the actress, who continues to conquer Hollywood and build her comedy and acting career.
