Jeffrey Dean Morgan reveals the future of Negan's solo 'The Walking Dead' spinoff series.

Negan was undoubtedly one of AMC series' most beloved characters, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of his solo show 'Isle of the Dead', currently in the works.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan's charismatic bad guy first appeared in 'The Walking Dead' in season 6, and quickly amassed quite a following, prompting the creative team to keep him for a follow-up seasons, despite previous plans to kill him off soon. Negan went from being the hateful sadist who killed two fan-favorite characters with a baseball bat the first time he appeared, to the relatable and complex anti-hero he eventually became. So, it's no surprise that AMC decided to order the series 'Isle of the Dead', which will center on Negan and Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) journey into an infested New York City.

After keeping quiet about the series' production process, Morgan finally took to Twitter to share his thoughts with fans after reading the full script. And it looks like the actor just can't wait to put on his iconic leather jacket and swing his deadly baseball bat again.

"Cool. Here's what I'll say about #isleofthedead I'm BEYOND excited. Thrilled to continue this TWD journey as Negan. I can't tell you how excited I am to be working with @LaurenCohan. We've read the season, it's gonna blow your minds," Morgan tweeted.

Fans of the actor are finally sure that the hotly anticipated series will still become a reality, sharing their excitement in the comments section.

"i am so excited for isle of the dead and to have negan on my screen for a little while longer. so comforting," – @MyJustinDiamond.

Others share ideas about the narrative of the series, especially trying to figure out how Negan and Maggie's relationship will play out.
